More of a framing question than regular wood working / carpentry.Bought a house next to a river. Had to call a plumber for a sewer gas issue. While he was in my crawl space doing his eval he noticed multiple rotted rim joists.Since I live next to a river moisture will always be a problem.SYP is the standard for all framing, but wanted to know if there are any advantages to Douglas Fir beyond the greater rot resistance (relative to SYP) that I've read about.
