DeathRomans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The fact that no man, no doctor, no amount of money in the world can stop death is a fact and reality everyone should ponder. Death touches all of us. As a pastor I have stood by a bed more times than I liked, helplessly watching as death struck another victim. But I have also stood by the bed of one within my own family and watched as death seized one dear to our hearts. Death is the wages of sin. We often talk about the price of things going up, but here is a price that has steadily remained the same from its very beginning. Death has always been the charge of sin. All humans are sinners therefore in time all will die. See Romans 3:10, 23. It is because of sin and death that Jesus Christ came into this world. The wages of sin is death, but it is through Jesus Christ that one can have eternal life in heaven. Salvation through Christ is the gift of God. Jesus Christ died but on the third day He arose in victory over death!! Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ death lost its sting and the grave lost its victory! See 1 Corinthians 15:55-57. Death is a very hard reality of life, but because Jesus Christ lives we can face tomorrow.
