BUT,THESE LAND YACHTS WERE A HELL OF A LOT SAFER THAN THE NEWER VEHICLES TODAY IN AN ACCIDENT. BUT YES,THEY WERE LOTS OF FUN TO PARK & DRIVE.

66 Ford Galaxie 500. Went zero to 60 (55) in about a week or so. Traded in for a smaller car...72 Chevy Nova. After driving that boat, the Nova felt like a compact.

I go back further. A big heavy car from the early fifties with no power steering, brakes with manual shift. Years later did have one like this. A '71 LTD full custom with all the chrome jet black inside and out. 2dr hardtop. Beautiful car. Girlfriend totalled it. The bad thing: It didn't kill her.
