Lights Out For Cuba As Communism FailsFidel Castro was a darling of the Democrat-dominated mainstream media when he took power. The New York Times wrote fawning articles about him and portrayed him as a romantic revolutionary hero. Even Walter Cronkite broadcast hopeful and optimistic reports about the bearded socialist. The cigar-puffing Castro captured the hearts of the socialist left in America. That cigar has long gone out along with all the lights in Cuba. Socialism eventually runs out of other people’s money and that has, once again, happened in Cuba. The Cuban people are poor—there are shortages of food, medicine, oil, and electricity in the island nation. Castro would have certainly blamed the US for each and every problem Cuba has ever had, but now the socialist excuses ring hollow. Cuba should be a paradise—its people are industrious, intelligent, resilient, and high-spirited, but their spirit has been damaged from decades of communist leadership. Castro and his forces took over Cuba on January 1, 1959. It led to 67 years of tyranny and if Castro could still be alive, he would be shaking his fist at Trump right now. Still, the reality is stark. Socialism has failed once again. Cuba can no longer depend on China or Russia to prop them up. Their only hope is allowing capitalism and prosperity back into the country—and President Trump wants to make that happen.Maybe soon, Cubans will see the light of freedom returning to their country. — The GrrrTeam
