"FOR, BEHOLD HE PRAYETH"
"And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.." (Acts 9:10-12)
These are the very words of our Saviour to a certain disciple named Ananias concerning Saul of Tarsus. Take special note of the last 4 words of that verse, "...for, behold, he prayeth,"
What was it about this newly converted soul that caught the eye and grabbed the attention of our risen Lord seated at the Right Hand of God? Oh hear Heaven's own answer to that question, "...for, behold, he prayeth,"
It goes without saying that our prayers are instantly received in Heaven. I believe the very moment that Saul began to pray, Jesus heard him. Do you not then find comfort here that your prayers are heard as soon as you begin to offer them?
How often has been the case when a burdened child of God can only but utter the language of groans and tears, yet, that groan has made the Harps of Heaven sing and those tears are now safely stored in one of the Father's most precious bottles. Never think that your prayer, however weak or frail, does not at once reach the tender ear of an Almighty and Caring God.
Do you remember Jacob's ladder? It may have seemed lofty and far reaching. Yet, we'll find our heart felt prayers quickly climbing every rung of that old ladder knowing most assuredly that a glad welcome awaits from that Throne of Grace where mercy and help is offered to all in need.
Pray on then friend for that unsaved loved one. Pray on then dear Christian for that lost neighbor you've witnessed to again and again. And yes, pray on then troubled soul when weeping situations arise; for it's then, that a watching Saviour declares, "for, behold, he prayeth,"
