The real question is did even ‘ancient Israel’ exist – certainly not in the way the Old Testament describes in a series of blatantly made-up stories Israel ‘ancient and modern’ is a story over and over of mass slaughter of ‘God’ dictated ‘enemies’ while the Roman Church is the same with its grotesque war, torture and enslavement of non-believers. I’m sure a ‘loving God’ was behind both, right?
