As To The LordColossians 3:23-24“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”.The world is full of pretenders and wannabes. Even in church we sadly see preachers adopt a style of another. Sometimes the same can be said of the entire church. Our verses remind us that what we do we are to do so “heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”.Who are we wanting to impress?It is easy to pretend and be someone else. Thankfully God didn’t make us all the same and He gave each of us different gifts and talents. All that we do as Christians, will be judged by Him who knows our motives. It is the Lord we serve and it is the Lord who will reward us or not. Whether we sing, testify, teach, preach, give, or whatever and however we do it, we do as to the Lord and not men. Just be who God made you. One of the beauties of the each of the characters and human writers of the Bible is God allows us to see each of them and how different they were. When you pretend to be someone you are not, the Bible calls you a hypocrite. Be who God made you and all that you do for the Lord, do it heartily and unto Him.
