You're going to 💕💕💕SHARIA LAW!
ثنا ابراهیمی | Sana Ebrahimi
I WAS born and raised Muslim. As women, we’re considered half of men. Under Islamic law, we have to obey men if we don’t want to be lashed, beaten, or oppressed. Our fathers hold authority over our lives and, under Sharia, can end our lives if they see us as a threat to Islam or their dignity.
We have no autonomy over our bodies; according to Sharia, our husbands can force themselves on us because that’s considered a wifely duty. We can’t even make basic decisions like choosing what to wear or traveling without permission from a male authority, be it a husband, father, or government enforcing Sharia.
We can be forced into marriage as children under 18 (9-13 yo in Iran). In some Muslim countries, like Iran, we can be forced to marry our rap*ist and are required to carry a pregnancy from ra*pe to term. And, as a former Muslim, I am sentenced to death for leaving Islam.
