Stephen A. Smith concedes Trump was Constitutionally JUSTIFIED in striking Iran.
“You got Tim Kaine and everybody else talking about, ‘Hey, it’s unconstitutional.’ Well, evidently it’s not,” Smith said.
Just to make things clear, he read this line from the Constitution itself:
“The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States.”
Smith added: “Presidents often cite this power to justify unilateral military action without immediate congressional approval, specifically to defend U.S. citizens or respond to threats.”
“So he was never really in any trouble. He was never really in any danger of being stripped of his potency as the Commander-in-Chief to make such a decision.”
