"EXPERIENCING GOD'S SPECIAL DELIVERY"
"Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore, I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes." (Job 42:1-6)
What a prayer! And it was a prayer that was a long time in coming. We've all read Job's story. His sorrows, his sickness, and his sadness are recorded for our learning. But never let us forget his strength, and oh, may we ever be mindful of his stand, "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." (Job 1:22)
It was a rough journey indeed from Job 1:13 to Job 41:34 that he had to endure. There were many hardships, heartaches, and humbling's along the trail. But ole Job stood tall and true. Sorrows? Yes! Sickness? Indeed!! Sadness? For sure! Ah, but deliverance was just around the bend. Why? Because real deliverance from any situation is found in hearing and heeding to what God says.
Then, here comes Job's 3 friends with a young Elihu in tow and offered up their take on the matter at hand, but to no avail. Finally, God spoke to Job in chapters 38 thru 41 and Job had no answer, argument, or alibi for the plain and perfect Word from God. What was Job's response to all this?
I love those words as I ponder them again in verse 2 of chapter 42, "I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be withholden from thee." Job knew that his Redeemer was well aware and that He can do everything.
Today, you may be laying there in the devil's dirt of doubt and discouragement. Do you know that your Redeemer liveth? You may have been knocked for a loop, but you can trust Him to be true and lift you up from your situation that has you almost pinned to the mat. You might be knocked down right now, but, Praise God, you're not knocked out! Therefore, rise up and declare, "My Redeemer liveth."
Friends, your Redeemer delivered you from worry and woe in the past when you were up against it, He is your Deliverer today, and He will be your deliverer tomorrow. Now, stand tall and true while you continue on for your Saviour and worry no more!
