Jersey Haven - So today we did something that seemed kind of counter-productive...we received a letter from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and consumer protection asking us to cease and desist advertising our raw milk sales in Wisconsin. We had flyers up in Brodhead, Juda, and Monroe about Jersey Haven and apparently someone saw them and didn't approve. I knew raw milk sales are not allowed in the state if Wisconsin except a few incidental locations, but I did not know it was illegal to advertise our raw milk sales in the state of Wisconsin. Even though we are not selling our milk in Wisconsin or off the farm premises, we are still not supposed to advertise in Wisconsin. I had flyers in my cooler room for people to take if they wanted. I just ask that if anyone took a flyer to put up in Wisconsin somewhere, that they please take it down so I don't get any more letters like this one. Luckily I did not get fined or anything, this was more of a warning letter, asking me to stop advertising in the state of Wisconsin.
