“I had no choice.”
“God understands me.”
“Everyone is doing it.”
“This is where I find happiness.”
Or even…
“The devil made me do it.”
But Scripture never teaches that.
The devil tempts.
The world influences.
The flesh desires.
But you choose.
James 1:14 (KJV) says: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”
Sin is not forced upon us — it is embraced by us.
Grace was never given as permission to remain in sin.
Paul answers his own question in the very next verse: Romans 6:2 “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Grace saves us from sin —not so we can live comfortably with it.
Excuses protect sin.
Truth exposes it.
And exposed sin is where repentance begins.
