An Islamic scholar says owning a dog inside the home reduces your good deeds and keeps angels away.She referenced the Prophet Muhammad as saying:“Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding, hunting, or farming, then every day two qirats are deducted from his good deeds.”" Whoever owns a dog is in debt to Allah and will be punished, so think twice.”She also quoted another narration:“The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.”According to this traditional interpretation, keeping a dog as a household pet without a valid religious reason decreases blessings (barakah), and a person should repent and remove the dog from the home.
