The Day Of The Lord2 Peter 3:10“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”Looking out my window this morning, I thought what a beautiful day God has given us. I thought, it will not be long until spring and plant life and grass will green up and the birds will be vying for the best spot to build their nests. It is hard to imagine that one day God will destroy this earth as we know it with fire. But once the old is gone, God will give us a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21:1). The phrase “the day of the Lord” is a phrase that signifies not just an end, but a beginning. Gone will be evil and evil men. The righteousness of God will reign forever and ever. All the God deniers and atheist will know there is a God who is omnipotent and they will know who He is! They will not escape His judgement, there will be no place for them to hide. There is a reason the last book of the Bible is named, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”. The person and truth of Jesus Christ will be revealed!1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” What are your thoughts about the day of the Lord?
