NYC: Baychester Blvd & Mall Blvd, a large group of reckless teenagers disrupted operations at the Mall at Bay Plaza in the Baychester area of the Bronx. Reports indicate that up to 500 teens, primarily aged 13 to 19, gathered yesterday for a planned "takeover" event promoted on social media platforms like TikTok. The crowd moved through stores, knocking over displays, taking merchandise without payment, and breaking windows, including at a nearby McDonalds. Objects such as bottles, ice chunks, and chairs were thrown at responding police officers.Officers from the NYPD responded following multiple 911 calls for crowd control. Eighteen individuals were arrested: 17 juveniles and one 19-year-old is facing charges including rioting and unlawful assembly. No serious injuries occurred.NYC Scoop
