📖 Jude 1:11 (KJV) “Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain…”
THE WAY OF CAIN — ALIVE AND WELL
The way of Cain is not atheism. It is religion without obedience.
Cain believed in God. — Cain brought an offering.
Cain came to worship. Yet God rejected him—not because God was unfair, but because Cain refused to submit. Cain wanted God to accept what he chose to bring instead of what God required.
That spirit has not died.
The way of Cain still exists today, dressed up in church clothes and religious language. Many quote Scripture, pray publicly, attend church faithfully, and even preach and teach—yet remain guilty of the way of Cain because self is still on the throne.
The way of Cain exalts sincerity over truth.
It values effort over obedience.
It replaces repentance with excuses.
It calls correction “judgmental.”
Cain was angry not because his offering failed—but because God would not bow to him. That same anger surfaces today whenever God’s Word confronts pride, sin, or false worship.
This is worship that wants God’s blessings without God’s authority. It wants salvation without repentance, grace without change, and acceptance without submission.
God has never accepted worship built on self-will. He accepts worship rooted in faith, obedience, and humility. When self remains alive on the altar, worship becomes rebellion.
The warning in Jude is clear: those who persist in the way of Cain place themselves under God’s “woe.”
True worship requires the death of self. Anything less is rejected.
