Sources close to the mayor say she was under the impression that her decree would magically transform Boston into a sovereign nation-state, complete with its own immigration policy and perhaps a moat around City Hall. “We did it! No more ICE in our progressive paradise!” Wu allegedly cheered, right before reality decided to crash the party like an uninvited uncle at Thanksgiving.
