Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick from Congress after a federal indictment and House Ethics report detailed alleged financial misconduct tied to misused government funds. In November, a federal grand jury charged Cherfilus-McCormick with siphoning off millions in taxpayer-funded disaster aid and allegedly channeling the money into her 2021 congressional bid.
