This is beyond politics. This is dangerous.
What we’re seeing from Forever Canadian spaces isn’t “passion” or “free speech” it’s a pattern of reckless, illegal behavior that puts innocent people at risk. Encouraging doxxing, vandalism, and harassment, including targeting families and children, is not activism. It’s intimidation.
And pulling a fire alarm in a crowded public venue is not a prank. It’s not clever. It’s not protest. It’s an act that can get people killed. Panic crushes, falls, medical emergencies; these are well-documented risks, especially when several thousand of people are present, like at the Big Four. Anyone who thinks this is harmless has no business lecturing others about democracy or public safety.
What makes this worse is the silence.
When supporters are willing to commit illegal acts to interfere with a lawful electoral process, leadership matters. And right now, Thomas Lukaszuk has a choice:
👉 Publicly denounce this behavior and shut it down
or
👉 Own the consequences of cultivating it
Because when leaders refuse to rein in extremism, it doesn’t de-escalate: it escalates.
This was a disgusting action. Full stop.
If it isn’t condemned clearly and immediately, people are right to expect more vandalism, more harassment, and more dangerous stunts ahead.
Canada doesn’t need this as it's legacy.
Albertans don’t deserve this for following democratic procedures.
And no political cause is justified by putting lives at risk.
