Pleasure Cannot Fill What Only God Created
The world promises satisfaction through pleasure, escape through indulgence, and peace through excess—but it always lies.
Sin never fills; it hollows. What feels good for a moment leaves the soul emptier than before.
Scripture commands, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8, KJV).
The devil does not devour with fangs first—he devours with distraction, dullness, and desire unchecked. Intoxication of the body leads to numbness of the soul.
No amount of sex, alcohol, or substances can satisfy the void God placed in man. That emptiness is not a defect—it is a reminder that we were made for Him.
“In thy presence is fulness of joy” (Psalm 16:11).
Anything else is a counterfeit.
The command is clear: resist, stay sober, stand firm in the faith.
The Christian life is not about chasing pleasure, but walking in truth.
Only Christ satisfies. Everything else consumes.
