"Depart from evil, and do good" – I am reminded of the Lord’s prayer asking to be delivered from evil. Rid yourself of evil and do good. By departing from evil, I believe that it means more than just not doing and saying evil things. I think it is intended to go a step further. If you want to not do and say evil things, it needs to start at the root: evil thoughts. Depart yourself from evil thoughts and you will never commit any evil deeds. Focus on doing good and having good thoughts and that is all that you will ever do."Seek peace, and pursue it." – This is where all of us could learn something. How strongly do you think that you pursue peace? I think that most of us are content to be in our bubble, safe and sound, probably helping our community and generally being a positive influence to those around us. Is that the same as truly pursuing peace? All of us argue from time to time, and on our bad days, I think it could be stated that we might even seek arguments. Do the opposite. Seek peace with all of your days and make it a focus. Put out fires, stop fights, and don’t argue or complain. A short Psalms with so much power! Thanks be to God!
