You can feel certain you’re saved—and still be wrong.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus did not warn pagans with these words. He warned the religious. People who talked right, showed up, and appeared moral—but never truly knew Him.
Saying the right words does not save.
Church attendance does not save.
Living morally does not save.
Salvation is not proven by appearance, but by faith.
The tragedy of false assurance is not that people reject religion—but that they trust it. They rest in habit instead of Christ. They lean on routine instead of redemption.
A man may carry a Bible and still deny the Saviour with his heart.
A woman may sit in church for decades and never be born again.
Jesus did not say, “Depart from me, ye lawless,” because they lacked religion.
He said it because they n e v e r knew Him.
John 5:24 He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life…
Eternal life comes from believing Christ, not performing Christianity.
If your confidence rests in what you do, what you say, or where you go—you are standing on sand.
If your confidence rests in the finished work of Jesus Christ—you are standing on the Rock.
This is not a call to try harder.
It is a call to trust rightly.
