DIRECT ACCOUNTABILITY BEFORE GODRomans 14:12 “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”Galatians 6:5 “For every man shall bear his own burden.”God makes it plain: every one, every man, himself. There is no collective standing before God, no shared moral ledger, no passing the blame to society, culture, or government. From the beginning, God has dealt with men personally. Adam answered for Adam. Cain answered for Cain. David answered for David. And one day, you will answer for you. The Lord will not ask what your group believed, how your movement voted, or whether the culture approved. He will ask what you did with the truth you were given.A man is responsible for: His walk with God His obedience to Scripture His leadership in his home His provision and protection of his familyThese duties cannot be delegated. They cannot be collectivized. When responsibility is surrendered to the collective, accountability is lost—and sin flourishes. The Bible does not teach that men are saved, sanctified, or judged as a group. It teaches personal repentance, personal faith, and personal obedience. God never excuses sin because it was popular, legal, or widely accepted. The collective may promise security, but it cannot provide righteousness. The collective may demand loyalty, but it cannot grant forgiveness. The collective may enforce conformity, but it cannot answer to God for you.One day, every man will stand alone before a holy God—no crowd to hide in, no system to blame, no excuses to offer. That truth should sober us. That truth should steady us. That truth should drive us to live responsibly, courageously, and obediently before God.
