Faith Is The Victory1 John 5:4“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we never had adversity or troubles to overcome?Our faith in God does not always change our circumstance but it can and does change us. Strong faith does not mean the mountain will move but that we will see the mountain in a different way.I believe that some people want to think of faith as some sort of “hocus pocus”, “open sesame” magical experience in which we can change all our troubles into triumphs. And, there are some people who have faith but also have genuine doubts. The salvation that Christ gives does not immunize anyone against trouble and adversity. Remember Jesus promised His disciples that they would suffer persecution. In John 16:33 Christ stated, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Our faith does not always remove the tribulation but it does give us the peace to go through it, and the victory to overcome it. The word “overcometh” means that on the other side of the battle you are victorious. You still go through the battle, but faith carries you through and you stand with Christ victorious!
