KEEP CALM AND BE REAL It is a gross error to say or to imply that others will have success in something that you had success with by simply doing it the way you did it, especially when you're a preacher standing behind a pulpit telling this to other preachers. There are just too many variables in play for this to hardly EVER work, much less always work. I've heard and read preachers peddling their methods to others, and seldom does anyone ever qualify their message with something like "Please understand, this works well for me, but maybe not for you. Pray about it, and let God lead." No, it's almost always just the opposite with a strong implication that you will have great success, if you follow this man's counsel and example. Then when you DON'T have great success, you become discouraged, thinking the problem is you. No, the problem is that what works for the next man will usually NOT work for you simply because you aren't him and you are not in the same situation with the same people and issues, and you might not even have the same calling. Because of this, I learned many moons ago to just relax and take all advice with a grain of salt, regardless of who gives it. Always be ready to glean a few tips from others, There are just too many variables, so don't try to be someone else. It's a guaranteed recipe for frustration and discouragement. "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." (II Cor. 10:12). ,
