Waiting On God
Psalms 130:5-6
“I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”
The Psalmist had prayed (vs. 1-4).
He had cried unto the LORD (vs. 1, 2).
He had sought forgiveness through sorrowful repentance (vs. 3, 4).
Now he was waiting on God (vs. 5, 6).
We pray to the LORD in faith and we wait on the LORD in faith. But what do we do while we wait? While we wait, we find hope in His Word, the Psalmist wrote “and in His Word do I hope”. The Psalmist had anchored his faith in God and His Word. There he found a source of strength to carry him through the moment. It takes patience to wait and most people do not like to wait. But when we pray and when we wait, who are we waiting on? We are waiting on the LORD. But while we wait on the LORD He is growing our faith. Sometimes what we are praying for is the need of a miracle to happen. The miracle that we want to happen may not be God answering the prayer as we think, but that He brings us to Himself as we pray and wait.
So keep praying!
Don’t give up!
Wait and find hope in His Word!
Submit yourself to God and allow Him to draw you close to Himself. It is the image of His Son that He is conforming us to (Romans 8:29).
