"FOR, BEHOLD, HE PRAYETH"
"And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth," (Acts 9:11)
These are the very words of our Saviour to a certain disciple named Ananias concerning Saul of Tarsus. What was it about this recently converted Saul that caught the eye of our risen Lord now seated at the Right Hand of God? Take note of the last 4 words of that verse, "...for, behold, he prayeth,"
It goes without saying that our prayers are instantly heard and received in Heaven. I believe the exact moment that Saul began to pray; Jesus heard him. Do you not then find comfort here that your prayers are heard the very second you begin to offer them?
How often has been the case when a burden-bearing child of God can only utter the language of groans and tears. Yet, those groans have made the harps of Heaven sing with an answer, and those weary tears are now safely stored in one of our Father's most precious bottles (Psalm 56:8).
Never think that your prayer, however weak or frail it may seem to you, does not reach the tender ear of our Almighty and caring God. Do you remember reading about Jacob's ladder? It may have seemed lofty and far reaching. Yet, we'll find that our heart-felt prayers will be victoriously climbing every rung of it. Therefore, with great assurance, we know that a glad reception and a guaranteed response is coming from His Throne of Grace where mercy and help is offered to all in need.
Friends, pray on for that lost loved one. Pray on dear Christian for that unsaved friend. Pray on troubled soul when weeping situations arise. As you continue to pray on, that's when your ever-watching and ever-listening Saviour in Glory declares, "for, behold, he prayeth,"
