The Standard Of God 1 Corinthians 3:13 - “Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.”Sadly and for the most part, people judge a pastor or preacher’s success on the size of his church or ministry. But fortunately for the pastor of the small church or for the leader of the small ministry the standard for reward from God is not the size of the work but the sort. The word “sort” here means the manner of or the quality thereof. God determines the success by its quality not by quantity. Please do not misunderstand me. I do not believe this excuses any Christian for unfaithfulness or laziness. As a matter of fact, part of the “sort” may be the Christian leader’s faithfulness to where God has placed him or her. The righteous fire of God will one day reveal the sort of every Christian’s work. The “sort” of the work will be revealed. Presently God already knows it. These last 3 years traveling to many churches and ministries has shown me that there are faithful and Godly leaders in both big and small works for God. We should leave the judgement of such things to God. There is coming a day when He will sort out “of what sort it is”.1 Corinthians 4:2 - “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
