“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.” — 2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV)The enemy has not changed his strategy—only his presentation. Sin is repackaged to look harmless. Heaven is portrayed as optional. Hell is minimized, joked about, or ignored altogether. And the Gospel, once proclaimed with urgency and tears, is reduced to a suggestion rather than a command. This is not accidental. Satan’s greatest victories are not loud rebellions but quiet compromises. If sin no longer offends, repentance disappears. If heaven no longer excites, holiness fades. If hell no longer terrifies, warning sinners feels unnecessary. And when the Gospel loses urgency, souls are lost while churches remain comfortable.God never intended the Gospel to be polite background noise. It is a rescue message. It is a life-and-death proclamation. Christ did not suffer, bleed, and die to make us feel better about our sin—but to save us from it.The answer is not a new message, but a return to the old one. Preach sin as sinful. Preach heaven as glorious. Preach hell as real. And preach the Gospel as urgent—because eternity is long, and time is short.Prayer: Lord, guard my heart from becoming numb. Let sin remain offensive, heaven remain precious, hell remain real, and the Gospel remain urgent in my life. Give me courage to speak truth plainly and compassionately, for Your glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.
