Then it was gone, with just a normal ring around the moon. It was spectacular to see!A lunar corona is a beautiful, colourful ring or set of rings seen around the Moon, caused by the diffraction of moonlight by tiny, similarly-sized water droplets or ice crystals in thin clouds, creating a bluish-white inner disk with reddish outer hues, different from the much larger 22° halo and often a sign of approaching weather changes.
