Doctors practice medicine. Mechanics fix machines—cars, trucks, trains, and boats. Carpenters build and repair structures. Preachers—like me—preach.My primary responsibility is to prepare you for eternity. Luke 12:5 “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”FEAR: Some may accuse preachers of trying to scare people. But if the word ‘hell' doesn’t stir fear in your heart, then there is nothing this country preacher can say to frighten you. Biblical words like hell, sin, death, and eternity are meant to get your attention. They are warnings—not suggestions.If these words have no effect on you, then you are blinded to God’s truth. They are not to be toyed with. They are not to be ignored.Eternity is a very long time to be wrong.
