"THREE MESSAGES FROM THE MANGER" "And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child." (Luke 2:16-17)It's interesting to find that the word "Manger" is only found 3 times in the Bible and all 3 times it's found in this 2nd chapter of Luke. It's even more interesting that each of those verses give us 3 different pictures of the Lord Jesus.Consider the 3 pictures:1. Verse 7 - "...and laid him in MANGER: because there was no room for them in the inn." This pictures our Lord's REJECTION.2. Verses 11&12 - "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a MANGER." This pictures our Lord's REDEMPTION.3. Verse 16 - "And they came with haste and found Mary, Joseph, and the babe lying in a MANGER." This pictures our Lord's REACHABILITY.The Manger is no longer with us. Today, the Bible is, and the Bible is God's manger where you and I make haste to see Christ. And then, like those shepherds of old, we make known those truths concerning Him.Yes friends, some will hear and REJECT. Others will hear and be REDEEMED. But Praise God, to all, He is within REACH!
