”For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
— Luke 2:11 (KJV)
Jesus was not born into a palace, but into poverty. He was laid in a manger, not a throne. Yet this child came with one purpose: to save sinners.
The light over the manger casts a shadow—the shadow of a cross. From the very beginning, Christ’s path led to Calvary. He did not come merely to set an example, but to give His life.
“Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
— Matthew 1:21 (KJV)
The wood of the manger points to the wood of the cross. The baby wrapped in swaddling clothes is the Lamb of God, born to be sacrificed.
“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
— John 1:29 (KJV)
This is not just a Christmas story — it is your story.
Christ was born because you are a sinner. He died because the wages of sin is death. He rose again so that you might live.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (KJV)
The question is not whether Christ came — He did.
The question is whether you have come to Him.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31 (KJV)
The cradle leads to Calvary.
Calvary demands a response.
“Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
