Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Names in the Bible matter—and this Name matters above all others.
He was not named Jesus because it sounded good or fit a tradition. He was named JESUS because that is what He came to do: save.
He did not come to improve society.
He did not come to reform politics.
He did not come to entertain religion.
He came to save sinners.
The manger points to the cross, and the cross explains the cradle.
From the very beginning, His mission was clear—“for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Sin is the problem.
Jesus is the answer.
This season, don’t stop at the baby in the manger.
Follow Him to the cross, where salvation was paid in full.
The greatest gift God ever gave the world was not wrapped in paper—but in flesh.
His name is JESUS.
And He still saves.
