The Difference Maker Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”Churches have learned the art of operating with much professionalism. Elaborate buildings where nothing is out of place. Sound systems, screens, and polished, rehearsed sermons are the norm. Let me make it clear that I believe that everything we do ought to be done “decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). And I am not against screens and study for sermon preparation and practicing for singing. We are representing the LORD. We should look our best, do our best, and all that we do, say, and sing should reflect the greatness of our God. But there is a part of the work of the Lord that money cannot buy and polished professionalism cannot duplicate. I am talking about the work of the Holy Ghost. If you ever have been in His presence, or preached under His influence, and if you have ever seen the difference He makes in a church service, or His work when you are witnessing or counseling you know the difference He makes. The Holy Ghost is the great difference maker. A $1200.00 suit, or a trained voiced, or a well edited post might make someone take a second look but only the power of the Holy Ghost can fill one with joy and peace, and cause them to abound in hope.Ephesians 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”Acts 13:52 “And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.”
