"ABOUNDING WITH THANKSGIVING" "For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God." (2 Corinthians 4:15)"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (Colossians 2:6-7)Every person, every situation, and everything is allowed through the wise and Omnipotent Hand of God for our sakes. He is, like the potter, shaping you and I for His own purposes. His children belong to Him and His purpose for them is good.But the good of those who love God is not God’s only motivation. Because He is God, His primary motivation is always and rightly His own glory. And so, we are reminded, God has purposed our good for His glory. Paul wrote in the very first chapter of this second letter that every promise God gives us is for our good and His Glory saying, "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." (2 Corinthians 1:20)It is the great purpose of God that His abundant and conquering grace should redound to His own glory. It is only right that it would be so, like an author or a painter or a sculptor being credited for their masterpieces. But how does abundant grace resonate to His glory? It does so as seen in the verse I posted above, "...through the thanksgiving of many."God will be glorified, no matter what. But our goal should be that He is glorified in us. When we grab from the giving and good Hand of God and run away thoughtlessly to enjoy His benefits, His abundant grace does not receive the glory it deserves.Friends, as born-again children of God and beneficiaries of His Divine goodness, let's become a soundboard from this day forward for our Heavenly Father. May each blessing He sends our way reverberate to the Glory of God, "through the thanksgiving of many."
