Isaiah 59:4 “None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.”
When a soul drifts from God, it never happens in one leap.
Broken trust is a slow, deadly slide. It starts when you begin to trust in vanity—empty things, selfish desires, and the illusions you build for yourself. From there, the tongue follows: lies are spoken, truth is bent, and deception becomes easier with every word.
Then comes the inward corruption.
Those lies begin to take root, and the heart conceives mischief, plotting sin long before it is ever acted out. And finally, Isaiah says it plainly—iniquity is brought forth. Sin is birthed. A life is marked, not by truth, but by deceit.
Broken trust leaves scars—not only on you, but also on others.
And the tragedy?
There was a time when lies were shameful—rare, avoided, rebuked.
But now? For many, deception has become normal… even expected.
That grieves the heart of God, and it grieves everyone who hoped better from you.
So the question stands: How do you want to be remembered?
For darkness… or for light?
For deception… or for truth?
For hiding behind lies… or for living boldly for the God who is Truth?
May your life shine—not with the fading glow of vanity, but with the unshakable light of a soul anchored in Christ.
