“The Real Monsters”
The picture says, “Monsters don’t sleep under your bed; they sleep inside your head.”
The Bible would agree—not with fairy tales, but with the reality of unseen evil that wars against the mind.
1. The Battleground Is the Mind
2 Corinthians 10:3–5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh… casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God…”
The devil doesn’t need to hide in the dark corners of a room.
He aims for the dark corners of a your thoughts.
Fear whispers. Temptation suggests. Doubt nags.
Lies slip in quietly. That is where the real war is fought.
2. Evil Spirits Target the Mind
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against… spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Scripture never speaks of “monsters,” but it certainly warns of unclean spirits, lying spirits, and devils that influence thought, mood, and behavior.
They don’t come with claws and fangs.
They come with suggestions, accusations, and imaginations.
3. Satan’s Greatest Weapon Is Deception
John 8:44 “…for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
The devil doesn’t need to drag anyone into a haunted house.
He works by planting lies in the mind until fear feels real and sin feels justified.
The greatest danger isn’t “what’s under the bed.” It’s what we entertain in the heart.
4. Christ Gives Power Over Every “Monster” of the Mind
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
A sound mind is a Christ-guarded mind.
The Lord doesn’t just save your soul—He stabilizes your thoughts, strengthens your spirit, and silences the lies of the enemy.
5. Victory Comes Through Bringing Every Thought to Christ
Philippians 4:8 “Think on these things…”
You win the battle of the mind by choosing what to dwell on:
Truth instead of lies — Faith instead of fear
Purity instead of corruption — Scripture instead of suggestions
Dark thoughts lose their power when exposed to God’s light.
Closing Thought: There may not be monsters hiding in your house… but there are spiritual influences fighting for ground in your mind.
Don’t surrender that territory. Guard your thoughts.
Fill your heart with Scripture. Walk in truth.
Let Christ rule your mind with His peace.
Because the only “monster” that wins is the one you feed.
