Colombian authorities have deported 22 members of the ultra-orthodox Jewish cult Lev Tahor. The group is being transferred to the US, where 17 minors will be placed under the care of New York’s Child Protective Services.Lev Tahor has been the subject of numerous investigations in countries across North and South America and the Balkans. Authorities and former members describe it as a cult-like sect that enforces extreme interpretations of Jewish law, including forced marriages, child abuse, harsh living conditions, and relocations to remote areas of the world.
