Appropriation Of Faith Colossians 2:9-10 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:Colossians 4:12 “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”This time of the year we are all in a mind set of appreciating all that we have. And we should! We should be thankful and show appreciation for God’s goodness and blessings. But imagine tomorrow looking across the table to a bountiful meal of turkey and dressing, and ham, and mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, green beans, and what ever else your family traditionally prepares for a Thanksgiving meal. Imagine looking at all that food and saying thank you to God for it but then NOT eating it!! To really enjoy it and utilize its goodness you have to appropriate it into your stomach. The Bible reminds us in Colossians we are complete in Christ. Prayer was made that the church would stand perfect and complete in Christ. In Christ we have all we need to not only be forgiven, and not only enough to give us eternal salvation, but in Christ we have all that we need to live victoriously in this present world. You and I ought to appreciate all that we have in Christ, but in order to really benefit from who Jesus Christ is and what He has to offer us we must appropriate Him into our life by faith! Gold in the ground you own does not make you rich, you must dig it out and cash in on it.
