You are thanking God for all the things He has done for you when you enter His courts with thanksgiving and praise.) You can thank Father God that the enemy is defeated any day of the year, but when you celebrate Thanksgiving, you celebrate that you can enter His courts with thanksgiving and praise. Remember that praise sets up ambushes against your enemy. When you are giving thanks to God, and you're praising and worshiping God, He's setting up ambushes and destroying the power of the enemy against you. Even if you feel that there is nothing in your life to be thankful for because the enemy is attacking you relentlessly and unmercifully, you can be in that hole, but don't stay there. You can thank God for giving you life. You can thank God that even if you were the only person on Earth, He still would have sent Jesus, His beloved Son, for you. You have lots to be thankful for, even if your enemy wants you to be thinking on all of the negative things. Your enemy really, truly wants you to focus on everything negative. Why? Because he doesn't want you to enter God's courts. He doesn't want you to be thankful; he doesn't want you to give God praise. Your enemy wants you to sit there and sulk, and feel sorry for yourself, and he wants you to be discouraged, and frustrated, and even angry with God. He doesn't want you to enter God's courts with thanksgiving and praise because he doesn't want you to receive your breakthrough; he doesn't want you to receive your answers to your prayers. Praise destroys the power of the enemy, and so does thanks because when you're thanking Him, your mind is set is on thanking God. Instead of sulking and feeling sorry for yourselves about everything that is going wrong, you're thanking Him for what He's already done, and the power that He has given you. Ps. 100:5 (For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.) You have to know God's truth; His TRUTH is His WORD. God is faithful to that truth to all generations. Even though this Bible was written thousands of years ago, these words still stand today. You can be thankful that he had people write His will down, His word down ( His will is His word) in the Bible, and have it all set out before you so you can have the Sword of the Spirit. You can have a weapon against the enemy and you can give thanks for the Bible. There are lots of things you can think of to be thankful for. Don't let your current circumstances lead you into the pit of thinking only what is going wrong in your life – it is a pit of darkness that Satan never wants you to get out of. Don't let him win the battle. Fight back with God's word, with thanksgiving and with praise when you enter His courts in prayer, thanking Him and worshiping Him and praising Him for the good things in your life, for what He has already done for you by sending His Son, thanking him for loving you, thanking Him for choosing you to be alive at this time to be on the Earth on this day for this very hour, etc. No matter what the enemy is trying to discourage you with, praise sets up ambushes and destroys the power of the enemy. The name above all names – Jesus/Yeshua HaMashiach – is ABOVE everything negative in your life, even cancer. John 10:10 (The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.) Don't thank God for what you are going through, because He didn't do it. The enemy did it to derail you from your relationship with Him by attacking you with what you are going through. God didn't do that to you, Satan did. It is harder to be thankful and praise God when you are hurting. Don't ever give Satan the satisfaction of succeeding in derailing you or separating you from God or causing you to blame God for what you are going through. God has to allow things to happen sometimes, because you get into disobedience, or you speak the wrong thing through your mouth, but HE doesn't do it to you. Jer. 29:11 (For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.) God wants you to focus on what He has done for you. You don't thank Him for the problem, you thank Him in the midst of it, and that's what gets you out of it. 1 Thess. 5:16-18 (Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.) The power of thanksgiving destroys the power of the enemy. We celebrate Thanksgiving day with our families and great food, but the real power of thanksgiving is not just reserved for that day. The real power of the meaning of true thanksgiving, with the Word of God, destroys the power of depression. It destroys the power of grief, sickness and disease. It destroys the curse on your life because you're showing God your faith and your trust in Him. 1 Chron 16:34 (Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.) Col. 3:17 (And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.) There's power in that, and the more you remind yourself of the things that God has done, the more joy that it brings, the more that power rises up on the inside of you. Why? Because you are focusing on the things that are above, the things that are true. Col 3:2 (Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.) We know that if we know the truth, the truth sets us free. There is so much power in giving thanks to God. Give it all to God and thank Him for freeing you so you can thank and praise Him no matter what you are going through or suffering in this life. Change your mindset off you and your sufferings and give it all to Him, thanking Him for taking it and dealing with it for you. Praise Him for how good He is, and how amazing He is, for His interventions in your life, and all the things He has done. 1 Pet. 2:9 (But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light) He is the only one who can get you out of the darkness and into His marvelous light with that power of thanksgiving. Prayer: I thank You, Father God, for the mighty name of Jesus/Yeshua HaMashiach. I thank You that I can enter Your courts with thanksgiving and praise. I thank You, that no matter what the enemy is doing to me, I thank and praise You, Father God, that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I have the victory in every aspect of my life, and I thank You, Father God, that the enemy is already a defeated foe. I thank You, Father God that cancer (or anything you are praying against) is DESTROYED by the power of the name of Jesus/Yeshua HaMashiach, and power of the blood He shed for me on Calvary's tree, I thank You, Father God, You've given me that name. I thank You, that You've given me that Blood Covenant with You. You are ABSOLUTELY GOOD, Your faithful love has no end, I can trust You forever, and Your truth lasts forever to all generations. I thank You, Father God, that no matter how I feel, I thank You to destroy the power it has over me. I thank You, because of the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach, by His stripes I am healed, and I have been set free in the mighty name of Jesus/Yeshua HaMashiach, whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I declare my freedom this day. God, no matter what, I love You, and I know You didn't do this to me. I know it's the enemy – he's the one who steals, kills, and destroys, but I thank You, Father God, that You have given me life to live it more abundantly, and I thank You, Father God, that I'm redeemed from this. I thank You, Father God, that You've set me free from this, and I thank You, Father God, that pain has to go right now in Jesus' name. I thank You, Father God that You've given me the name ABOVE every name. I thank You, Father God for calling me out of darkness into Your marvelous LIGHT. I pray this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus/Yashua HaMashiach. Amen and Amen. *You should thank God for everything He has already done for you. *Praise sets up ambushes against your enemies. *You have so much to be thankful for. Don't allow the enemy to tell you otherwise. *Praise destroys the power of the enemy and so does being thankful. *God's truth is His Word and He is faithful to it. *You have been given the name above every name—Jesus. *God is faithful and He will not abandon you. *No matter what's hitting you or bombarding you, keep your focus on God. Continue to thank and Praise Him. *There is so much power in giving thanks to God. GOD WINS!!!!!
