Don’t Look Back—It Will Cost You Everything
Luke 17:32 (KJV) — “Remember Lot’s wife.”
The Lord Jesus Christ gave one of the shortest and most sobering warnings in all of Scripture: “Remember Lot’s wife.”
She was almost out.
She was almost safe.
She was almost delivered.
But almost saved is still lost.
Her body stepped out of Sodom, but her heart never left it, and when she looked back, God judged her immediately.
Lot’s wife stands as a permanent warning to every professing Christian who tries to have one eye on Christ and one eye on the world.
She loved what God hated, and she longed for what God was destroying. The fire behind her didn’t scare her as much as the world she was leaving.
If your heart is still chained to what Christ died to deliver you from, you are not walking in freedom — you are drifting toward ruin.
Christ did not save you to look back, reach back, or run back. Salvation is forward. Holiness is forward. Christ is forward. Heaven is forward.
The Word of God is clear:
James 4:4 (KJV) — “…whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
There is no victory for a Christian who keeps glancing over his shoulder.
There is no spiritual power while longing for old sins.
There is no progress when yesterday looks more appealing than Christ.
Lot’s wife proves that you can walk away from destruction and still die in it if your heart belongs to the world.
Today, make it plain: No more curiosity about what God saved you from
No more divided heart
Fix your eyes on Christ, refuse to look back, and run as though eternity depends on it — because it does.
