TCP2
(Treatment Compression Platform 2)
Built 1976–1977. Åndalsnes, Norway.
TCP2 was a Condeep-type GBS with 19 cylindrical cells at the base and three reinforced concrete shafts (or legs) rising from them to support the topside deck.
It's main role was gas processing (separating condensate and water, dewatering, and piping to Scotland) from the Norwegian side of Frigg and nearby satellites like North-East Frigg, East Frigg, Lille-Frigg, and Frøy.
Located in 102 meters of water, it included three process trains and gas turbines for power. Installed in June 1977, operational from 1978; underwent multiple upgrades (e.g., 1981 compressors, 1995 for oil processing) before shutdown in 2004.
This multi-shaft design provided enhanced stability and buoyancy during towing and installation, while CDP1's single-shaft setup was more compact but adapted from an original manifold platform concept.
