Is Jesus Christ Your Lord?Luke 6:46 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?Matthew 7:21-23 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”The title “Lord” is the identification title of Jesus Christ. The word is defined as “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord” (Strong’s Concordance)Do you consider yourself as one who belongs to Jesus Christ?Do you submit to Him and give Him the power to decide in your life?The word also denotes ownership, as 1 Corinthians 6:20 and 7:23 reminds me that I have been bought with a price and I am not my own. There is a direct connection between Jesus being Lord of our life and our obedience to Him. To disobey Him and His Word for our life is the same as denying Him as Lord of our life. Is He Lord of your life or not? Lordship of Christ the central verity of the church. In his epistles the Apostle Paul used the full name the Lord Jesus Christ 65 times. To claim Christ as your Saviour but deny Him as your Lord would be a contradiction of Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” and Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.Jesus Christ is Lord and that truth is absolute!!But, is He your Lord?
