“Of Him Are Ye in Christ Jesus”T e x t: 1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”OF HIM — I am in Christ because of Him, not because of me.Not because of my church, my knowledge, or the works I do for God.It is ‘of' Him — completely the work of Jesus Christ. The verse says that Jesus is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.Since He is made unto us redemption, then no one can redeem themselves through anything or anyone else. You can’t earn redemption. You can only receive it through Christ.Never confuse salvation with your walk after salvation. That’s where the devil has fooled the world! He’s convinced many that salvation is a process — something you earn through deeds — rather than the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. But no work I do could ever compare to His work of redemption. To be redeemed is by One: Jesus. Not by two: Jesus and you.The Church is not “made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.”The Church’s purpose is to teach, instruct, and provide a place to worship and grow in understanding God’s Word. But the Church can never be the source of salvation. So, let’s ask some honest questions:Are you trusting in the Saviour—or in your church? Are you trusting in the Saviour—or in your own abilities or rituals? Are you trusting in the Saviour—or are you merely familiar with God and the things of church life?Being religious is not the same as being redeemed.Being active in church is not the same as being in Christ.“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us…”Today, one of the greatest sins sending people to Hell is not murder, adultery, or drunkenness — it’s false assurance.People are content being “religious” or “familiar” with God, mistaking that for salvation. This false familiarity blinds them to their need for the Saviour. If you are only familiar with God and the Bible in the wrong way, it will corrupt your understanding of salvation, church, Scripture, and the Christian life.If you are made in Him, then you understand:Salvation belongs to the Saviour — not to a denomination, a system, or religious works. But if you are not made in Him, you’ll think salvation depends on you — your rituals, your effort, your religion. You’ll end up worshipping your own performance rather than the Lord who saves.True salvation is not about what you do, but who you are in.Are you in Christ Jesus, or just in church?Only one gives life.
