"YET WILL I NOT FORGET THEE" "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, YET WILL I NOT FORGET THEE." (Isaiah 49:15) (caps mine)Have you ever felt forsaken or forgotten by someone? All of us have at one time or another. I know there's been plenty of times in my own life when someone made me feel like an abandon child left on the side of the road.As unthinkable and unnatural as it may seem, it's possible for a mother to neglect her nursing baby. Far too often we hear about some shocking account on TV or read about it in the newspaper where a mother, or a father inflicted great harm and hurt toward their infant child. They may have become frustrated or forgetful; or worse yet, their thinking may have been so selfishly wicked that they put themselves first and failed to consider the needs of their little baby. Yes, we live in a fallen and sinful world where parents neglect or abuse their children, but God will always abide with and nurture His own. Your own parents may turn against you and forget you, but the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). And folks, that's just one of His many undeniable and unchangeable promises! What a comfort it is to read those words from our Heavenly Father.Even though our features may deteriorate, or our friends disappear, or a family member dies, and we sense a degree of loneliness, remember this, our Saviour will be as near as the mention of His dear Name. As a matter of fact, He's been there right from the get-go when we were born again, and He will stay with us and lead us all the way Home. Why? Because He is our perfect and protective Parent, and with His infinite grace and tender mercy, He is nigh and ever compassionate unto each of His children. To be sure, there's been many tests that we have failed and many temptations that we fell for, and we felt forsaken and friendless when all was said and done. Ah, but that's when God holds us safe and secure with His loving arms. Friends, the Lord is ever with thee. Therefore, let Him embrace your heart today and then anchor your soul in His promise, "...yet will I not forget thee."
