Those three health care bills were the “Patients Choice Act of 2009”, the “Health Care Freedom Plan,” and the Republican Study Committee (RSC), under the leadership of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), introduced the “Empowering Patients First Act”. The Republican Study Committee (RSC) introduced another plan H.R. 3121 called, the “American Health Care Reform Act (AHCRA)”. REPUBLICAN options PAUL RYAN Expansion of health savings accounts - Tax deductions for individual purchase of health care matching corporate tax deductions - Tort reform: limits on punitive damages - Tort reform: limits on non economic damages - Tort reform: more mediation options - Elimination or large reductions in mandates on insurance plans - Ability to sell health insurance across states - Portability of major medical plans for continuous coverage - Reasonable documentation checking for immigration status before receiving medical welfare benefits - Reform of emergency room mandates about coverage for non emergency care - Incentives or removal of barriers to increase medical school enrollment - Re-target health care charity for chronic, expensive medical conditions instead of expanded SCHIP and Medicaid coverage - Bring other nations to the WTO for strong arming drug providers.
