Call Unto The LORDJeremiah 33:1-3 “Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying, Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”God’s people were in Babylonian captivity and God’s prophet Jeremiah was shut up in prison. To say things looked bad for God and His people would be an understatement. But God was not finished! The plan and purposes of God will never be thwarted by a godless society of infidels who have the idea that they are in charge. God promised His people that He would bring them out of their captivity and He would restore them to their land and spiritual place. God had a word of Jeremiah to give unto His people. That word was, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” I read the other day that 62% to 69% of American citizens claim to be a Christian. Calling oneself a Christian does not constitute one being a Christian. But just as in Jeremiah’s day, there was a remnant of true believers in Jehovah. I believe God has many true believers or true Christians in America. I will leave the percentage of the true believers to God. No doubt His stats and percentages are never wrong! Things may not look promising for Christianity in our country. May we who are true believers in Jesus Christ and also American citizens heed the words of the LORD given from Jeremiah. May we, Call unto the LORD, that He might answer and show us great and mighty things in America!
