"SPEAKING ABOUT THE TRUTHS WE KNOW" "For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:20)For many Christians today, it is all too easy NOT to speak about the Gospel Truths. That which we have had heard and learned, and that which we have read, should be spread. Yet, some bury the Gospel Light they have been given under a basket full of excuses. But this was not the testimony of the apostles. Having seen the risen Lord and Saviour themselves, and having learned at His feet, and having received His charge to go and baptize and teach in His name, they had no desire but to proclaim that life-changing Truth they had seen and experienced, not only personally, but publicly. Now, those ole Jewish big shots had just commanded them not to speak any more in the name of Jesus (v 18). The apostles could have whined and whimpered and compromised the Glory of God and settled for a people-pleasing, smile and be happy message. Instead, they declared their determination to be right and do right in the sight of God and continue to proclaim the Truth concerning Jesus Christ. The courage that was expressed by those faithful disciples back then should compel us to ask this question of ourselves: If we are so easily silenced in our Gospel witness, have we truly experienced the same message the apostles did? Is Jesus Christ all we claim Him to be? Is He the living Saviour seated at the right hand of God right now, or did He simply rot away in a borrowed tomb? What is He to you?Yes friends, we are to be a witness today of our Lord's Truth, but sadly, many Christians instead of being a WITNESS, they have become LISTLESS! For those who personally know their Resurrected Redeemer are consumed by that relationship, and they too cannot but speak the things which they have seen and heard.
