GETTING ANGRY WITH GOD I have observed various people getting angry with God and staying angry for years, maybe for the rest of their lives, and for the life of me, I have never understood it. It's not because I think of myself as some sort of spiritual giant for NOT ever getting angry with God, because I am definitely no spiritual giant; it's just that I've always enjoyed a healthy dose of common sense, and it has always struck me as being very stupid to be angry with God. Even most unsaved people are not angry with God, yet some Christians have the funny idea that their anger toward God is going to "get him back" for whatever they think he did to them or failed to do for them. That has got to be about the dumbest thing a person can do. You might get your way with a bad attitude toward certain people, but you'll only hurt yourself with a bad attitude toward God. God is not human, and he is not moved by human manipulation. You'll move God into your corner with faith, prayer, humility and obedience to his words (Isa. 66:2; Heb. 11:6), not with a bad attitude. Jonah didnt win by being angry with God, and neither will you. Why people spend years running from this simple truth I'll never know, because it's so easy to just let it go and trust God."I'm mad at God, so I'm not gonna read my Bible!" Fine. You'll only hurt yourself. "I'm mad at God, so I'm not gonna pray or witness!" So what? God's train will keep right on rolling whether you ride or not. "God let me down, so I'm not gonna serve him!" You're dead wrong, and you'll admit it in the day of judgment. YOU CAN'T WIN! You're not fighting your fellow man; you're fighting Almighty God, the one who said, "Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!" (Isa. 45:9) No matter how angry you are and how right you think you are, YOU ARE WRONG, you cannot win, and the sooner you repent the better life will be for you. There's no better time than right now.
